Her Excellency Candace A. Bond

U.S. Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago

Ambassador Bond leads U.S. foreign policy goals in Trinidad and Tobago that strengthen citizen security; advance sustainable and equitable economic growth with an investor-friendly business climate; promote laws, regulations, and best practices focused on good governance and anti-corruption; and build capacity to enhance climate resiliency, and a transition towards clean and renewable energy production.

Prior to her posting in Trinidad and Tobago, Ambassador Bond was a business owner, consultant, and social entrepreneur who specialized in helping public and private sector entities to develop innovative, effective, and scalable solutions to address the socioeconomic and environmental needs of local communities. She advised businesses and nonprofits on tangible ways to promote environmental sustainability, community development, affordable housing, quality education, health equity, and corporate governance. She had a distinguished career as a senior executive of major media and entertainment companies, and also served on several boards and in leadership positions pertaining to public education, health and wellness, housing, economic development, entrepreneurship, bioscience, clean energy, and energy sustainability.


Kym Bancroft 

Managing Director - New View Safety

Kym is currently the Managing Director of a boutique consultancy, New View Safety, that partners with organisations to turn contemporary safety ideas into operational practices.

Kym is a passionate and future-state focused executive health and safety leader, holding a Masters in Safety Leadership from Griffith University, Masters in Applied Psychology (Organisational) and a Graduate Diploma in OHS from Murdoch University. She is an endorsed Organisational Psychologist.


Dr Peter Brace

Co-founder and CEO - Human Capital Realisation

Dr Peter Brace is a Psychological Safety Consultant, and works to empower leaders and employees by assessing and improving psychological safety in the workplace. He has developed a unique framework for improving psychological safety in cultures and organisations with large power differences between team leaders and members, where hierarchy and respect for authority are particularly important.

He is co-founder and CEO at Human Capital Realisation, and has broad and deep experience in the use of technology to improve business outcomes, including human resources/people and culture, customer relationship management, international consulting, sales, and project management.



Ronald Adams

Mr. Ronald Adams is a senior energy sector executive with thirty years of experience across the Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream sectors of the energy industry. He is a proven transformational leader with an ability to quickly grasp key business drivers and develop strategies to drive excellence by building focused, aligned, and high-performing teams to achieve Corporate and Business objectives and targets. 




Aleeya Ali

Managing Director, Operations - Proman Trinidad

As Managing Director of Operations in Trinidad, Aleeya manages three divisions across the Proman family of companies that produce methanol, anhydrous ammonia, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN), and melamine. The divisions provide a range of plant and project management services to 14 chemical plants owned and operated by Proman in Trinidad and Tobago. Aleeya is instrumental in her team’s delivery of best-in-class support across all facilities, to ensure that operations excellence is maintained throughout the Point Lisas business. 
Aleeya is in her 16th year with the Proman family of companies, having worked on a wide range of initiatives across the petrochemical processes and operations segments of the business. She has had considerable experience in key company projects that include the design, construction, and commissioning phases of the Ammonia Urea Melamine (AUM) Complex and the mature operating phases of the Ammonia and Methanol Plants. 


Alison Taylor 

Clinical Associate Professor - NYU Stern School of Business

Alison Taylor is a clinical associate professor at NYU Stern School of Business, and the executive director at Ethical Systems. Her previous work experience includes being a Managing Director at non-profit business network BSR and a Senior Managing Director at Control Risks. She holds advisory roles at VentureESG, sustainability non-profit BSR, Pictet Group, and Zai Lab, and is a member of the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Good Governance. She has expertise in strategy, sustainability, political and social risk, culture and behavior, human rights, ethics and compliance, stakeholder engagement, anti corruption and professional responsibility.

Gareth Lock

Founder - The Human Diver

Gareth Lock is the Founder of The Human Diver, an organisation focused on bringing human factors, non-technical skills, just culture, and psychological safety to the diving industry, based on more than 20 years in the Royal Air Force and academic studies over the last 10 years.

He has published Under Pressure, a best seller, based on bringing the theory of human factors and systems thinking to the diving domain by telling more than 30 stories concerning events that didn’t go to plan.

Stuart is the Chief Executive Officer of The TSL Group of companies and the youngest member of the board of directors, having been appointed EVP in 2011.

Stuart holds a B.A in Statistics & Economics from the University of Western Ontario and began his career at TSL in 2003 as a Sales Representative. In this role, Stuart achieved an impressive track record of high-quality salesmanship and tremendous care for his
clients. He went on to become the Sales Manager and then E.V.P. of Sales and has brought the company significant success despite the challenging environment of the last few years.
 

Hanif E.A. Benjamin  

President & Chief Executive Officer - The Centre for Human Development

Hanif Earis Antony Benjamin is a Licensed Master of Social Work, licensed by the New York State Office of the Professions, and a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and the National Centre for Crisis Management. Mr Benjamin is a Clinical Traumatologist and Clinical Therapist with a Clinical and Field Traumatology Certification from the Traumatology Institute of Canada and a Certification in Child Trauma (C.C.T.). Mr Benjamin is listed in the International Deployment Directory of the National Center for Crisis Management as a first responder for traumatic events and an International Premier Speakers and Trainers Bureau of the National Center for Crisis Management and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.

Trish Kerin  

Inaugural Director - IChemE Safety Centre

Trish Kerin is an award-winning international expert, author, and keynote speaker on process safety leadership and the inaugural director of the IChemE Safety Centre. She leads an international team that helps organisations share and learn about process safety. Trish leverages her years of engineering and varied leadership experience to help organisations improve their process safety outcomes. 

Reshard Chandoo

Engineering Specialist, Process Safety Management (PSM) - Nutrien

Reshard Chandoo is an experienced chemical engineer having worked in the petroleum refining and petrochemical industries for the past fourteen (14) years in the areas of process safety management, process plant operations, and capital projects.
 
He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago (APETT), a registered engineer with the Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago (BOETT), a Chartered Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and the current Vice-Chairperson of the Point Lisas Energy Association (PLEA) PSM Sub-Committee.
 

 

Clinton McDonald

Operational risk and safety - bp

Clinton (Clint) McDonald has been with bp since 2011. During this time, he’s been focused predominantly on downstream HSE and operational risk roles, at both regional and global level, but has also held senior leadership roles within operations and transformation. 
In his current role Clint is accountable for global safety strategy and the supporting programs. He leads a team of safety subject matter experts, covering areas including process safety, personal safety, contractor management and human performance.
Clint started his career as a graduate with Mobil, working in several research and production roles. He coordinated the rollout of Mobil’s HSE management systems across several of its Australian operations. This led to expanded HSE roles, including accountability for the Mobil Australian Fuels business. Following the merger with Exxon, Clint also worked on local implementation of Exxon’s OIMS. 

Brendon James 

HSE Coordinator, Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission

Brendon is an experienced Energy and Risk Management Specialist, Sustainability Consultant, and Vice President at the not-for-profit think-tank the Sustainability Institute of Trinidad and Tobago.
Brendon has worked across the Natural Gas value chain in energy locally and internationally. He has worked in both the Operations and HSE fields in senior leadership positions in Drilling and Workover, Oil and Gas Production Operations, Refining and Marketing, Government regulators, Asset Management, and the Power and utility industries for over twenty-two years. Currently, he is the Area HSE Coordinator at Distribution Central in T&TEC.

Nirad Tewarie

CEO - AMCHAM T&T

Nirad is the CEO of AMCHAM T&T. He has been a proponent of the expansion of the tech sector in T&T for almost two decades. He has varied experience in media, communications, international relations, and business. He has served on the Board of the Telecommunications Authority of T&T. Among the boards on which he currently sits is a US-based Fintech startup and a local private equity company.


Kristine Leo

VP, HSE International Operations -Woodside

Kristine Leo is the Vice President for Health, Safety & Environment for Woodside Energy International Operations based in Houston. She is accountable for HSE outcomes in all operational company locations outside Australia, including Trinidad & Tobago, United States, Canada, and Senegal. Kristine has been with Woodside Energy since 2010 after 23 years in Australian Government roles in the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Roles within Woodside Energy have included the General Manager of Security and Emergency Management and the Country Manager for China. She has resided in Houston since May 2022.  

John Onuska 

Training Instructor - MSA -The Safety Company

John Onuska is a North American Training Instructor for Fixed Gas/Flame Detection and Portable Gas Detection Instruments. John has dedicated his career to the safety industry. He has over 10 years of experience training worldwide on gas detection with both portable meters and area monitors, in addition to certification-level training to repair them. These trainings have given him a wide range of knowledge and experience in many different industries such as metal/non-metal mining, pulp & paper, chemical plants, marine & shipping, and petrochemicals. He has also worked closely with individuals, training on confined spaces and the hazards that are involved to keep workers safe. John has over 20 years’ experience as a volunteer firefighter where he has gained certifications for Firefighter 1, Hazmat, and Vehicle Rescue Tech to name a few. 

Emile Grant 

HSE&C - bpTT
Emile Grant is a career HSE&C Professional with a drive to ensure people return home safely. With 10 years’ experience in bpTT, he has gained varying experiences across a number of areas in the upstream business – frontline operations (offshore and onshore), Projects and Turnarounds, Regulatory Compliance, Logistics & Workplace Services – where he was responsible for providing technical HSE advice to manage and continually improve HSE performance. Passionate about Human Performance, Culture and Safety Leadership, Emile has pursued and recently acquired Technical Membership status at the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) out of the UK. He hopes to utilize his experiences, knowledge and newly acquired skills and networks to bolster Learning and the embedding of the Human performance principles in the region.

Dominic Rampersad 

President - Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited
Mr. Rampersad has over 30 years of experience in financial accounting and has been employed at Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited since 1994. 
During his employment at PPGPL, he has held various portfolios including management accountant, financial accountant, business development- project leader, vice president- finance & information technology and corporate secretary. Since 2014 to present, he has held the position of president.
As PPGPL’s president, he has been instrumental in three acquisitions between 2020 and 2022 that have created a new future of possibilities for PPGPL, its employees and the new subsidiaries. 
Mr. Rampersad embraces technology and continuously explores new ideas and approaches to increase efficiency across the companies. The establishment of a department such as Innovation and Corporate Agility is testament to his drive to transform the business. 


Indu Sharma

Indu is an Attorney at Law with over 30 years of experience in the areas of Corporate and Commercial Law, Energy and Banking having spent the majority of her professional life in the energy sector in Trinidad and Tobago at a Senior Executive and Board Levels with several multinational companies such as GDF SUEZ, Centrica and Methanex. 

She is the Managing Partner of the legal firm of Nath Sharma and Co which focuses on the areas of Conveyancing, Commercial and Corporate Law and Probate. In collaboration with her business partner Joanne Salazar she is channelling her accumulated knowledge into QED Consulting Limited a consulting firm committed to improving governance standards and practices in all sectors of the economy. 

Indu is currently a Chancellor’s representative on the Council of the University of the West Indies St Augustine Campus. She is the Chair of AMCHAM TT’s Environmental and Social Governance Committee.
Indu is also  is the Vice President of the Greater Tunapuna Chamber of Commerce.

 

Rachel Welch-Phillips 

Partner and Head of ESG and Sustainable Finance - Dentons Delany, Trinidad and Tobago
Rachel is a partner in the Firm’s Trinidad & Tobago office, Head of the ESG and Sustainable Finance practice, and a member of the regional Corporate and Commercial practice group. She focuses on ESG strategy and compliance, mergers & acquisitions, commercial contract drafting and negotiation, project development, debt financing, and regulatory advice across a variety of industry sectors. Another area of focus and specialisation for Rachel is the technology start-up ecosystem. She believes in the power of technology and digitisation and advises start-ups, investors, and regulatory bodies on the growth and development of the regional technology ecosystem.

Edwin Mondezie 

Operations Director - G4S Secure Solutions, Trinidad LTD
Edwin Mondezie is an esteemed security advisor and leader with over 30 years of experience influencing security operations from local to national levels in the United States. He is certified in instruction methodologies with a reputation as an insightful, motivational leader and trainer. He attained the highest enlisted rank in The United States Air Force (Chief Master Sergeant) and was a successful Police Officer/Instructor at The New York City
Police Academy. He has a finely-tuned ability to construct and engage encompassing security plans that meet operational needs, maximize available resources, and promote the health and safety of team members and the public. Mr. Mondezie has a broad knowledge of
surveillance, investigation, and intelligence-gathering techniques.



Kurt Seecharan 

Process Safety & Risk Superintendent - bp
Mr. Kurt Seecharan has over twenty (20) years of experience in the oil and gas sector with expertise in the areas of engineering, auditing, risk management and health and safety. He started his career as a Mechanical Engineer in Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries and after ten (10) years, transitioned to bp Trinidad and Tobago as an Assurance Lead in the Safety and Operational Risk department. He has now spent over ten years at bpTT supporting various teams and currently holds the role of Process Safety and Risk Superintendent where he is largely responsible for ensuring conformance to process safety and risk management requirements. Kurt has successfully completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of West Indies and has lectured several engineering courses over a ten-year span at the University of Trinidad and Tobago.




Balchan Jadoonanan

HSSE Manager - DeNovo Energy Limited
Balchan Jadoonanan is an HSE and CMER professional with over 19 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry. He entered the industry as a Process Plant Operations Technician at Atlantic LNG in 2004, then transferred to the Health, Safety, Security and the Environment (HSSE) Department in 2007, where he helped to establish the framework for the company’s Control of Work program and HSE management system. As a key member of the Atlantic Safety Team, he was later promoted to its leadership in 2012. For the period of 2016-2018, Balchan was seconded to BPTT as an H&S Advisor where he offered his expertise acquired from years of experience and study in the field. Upon returning to Atlantic, he was promoted to HSE Manager where he played a key role in the development and implementation of several of Atlantic’s industry-leading HSE initiatives. In August of this year, Balchan transitioned to his present role as HSSE Manager with DeNovo Energy Limited. Balchan is an advocate of continuous improvement and digitalization, as such he is at the forefront of several initiatives that aim to leverage cutting-edge technology to enhance corporate HSE performance.



Cindi Nandlal

Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Manager - Point Lisas Nitrogen Limited (PLNL)
Cindi’s career spans twenty-three (23) years in the energy and non-energy industries. During that period, her roles expanded beyond HSSE to include a non-executive board of directors for three subsidiary companies in a conglomerate. Her current role at PLNL allows her to also have oversight on process safety management (PSM) and support PLNL’s cultural transformation using Human and Organizational Performance (HOP). Cindi’s passion over the years is fuelled by her experience with fatalities and significant events. Recently given the opportunities to present at international forums like Safety II Practical Applications at John Hopkins Hospital in Florida and the Community of Practice for Energy Safety Canada, Cindi notes that HOP has played a major role in changing her perspective as a substantial enabler in transforming leadership, understanding complexity, and listening for context. 






Giselle Thompson

Head of communications and advocacy & vice president - corporate operations - bp Trinidad and Tobago

Giselle Thompson is the Vice President Corporate Operations for BP Trinidad and Tobago. Giselle is responsible for the management of the company’s external facing strategy and reputation. This includes the management of the company’s internal and external communications, delivery of the company’s sustainability strategy and overseeing all interactions between BPTT and external stakeholders including the government, business partners, civil society groups and the community. In addition to her substantive role, Giselle is also the senior leadership champion for delivery of the company’s NetZero strategy ensuring the efficient integration of cross functional activites to deliver the company’s emission reduction goals and also supporting industry and country efforts to successfully navigate the energy transition. 

Giselle is also a member of the boards of Ansa Bank, the Heroes Foundation, the Mayaro Initiative for Private Enterprise Development, AMCHAM T&T, and the Maple Leaf International School.


James Devers

Managing Director - G4S Secure Solutions, English Caribbean

James Devers, Managing Director, G4S Secure Solutions, English Caribbean, joined G4S in 2014 as Managing Director of G4S Secure Solutions Trinidad. In January 2020, he became Managing Director G4S English Caribbean and his responsibilities expanded to include G4S’ offices and operations in Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada and Antigua. As a member of the G4S Global Leadership Team, he is responsible for G4S’ financial performance, service delivery and operations in the G4S English Caribbean. He represents G4S Latin America and the Caribbean on the G4S Global Diversity and Inclusion Council. He is Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago’s Security Committee. He is a Director of CrimeStoppers Trinidad & Tobago and CrimeStoppers Barbados. He is a member of the Management Board of the St James Police Youth Club.



Cavelle Joseph - St. Omer

President - HRMATT & Divisional Manager, Human Resource - UDeCOTT

Cavelle Joseph-St. Omer, President of HRMATT, and Divisional Manager, Human Resource at UDeCOTT, is a globally recognized Human Resources executive with over twenty years of experience working to effectively balance big-picture thinking and strategic planning with hands-on execution. Her passion is providing HR solutions for her colleagues and clients by helping them build their HR infrastructure through technology, compliance and people. 
Cavelle was recently elected as the first President of the Caribbean Institute for Human Resource Management, registered in Jamaica. CaIHRM is a regional body of Caribbean Human Resource Management Associations working in partnership and in the interest of human capital development across the region. 
Ms. Joseph – St. Omer is member of the Board of Directors of the National Training Agency, where she serves as the Chairperson of the Finance and Investment Committee. She is presently the Public Relations Officer of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business Alumni Board, and a Director of the EPOCH Foundation. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Human Resource Management Association of Trinidad and Tobago, where she also facilitates SHRM examination preparation. 



Gerard Rajkumar

Manager and Lead Consultant - Sygma Environmental

Gerard Rajkumar is a professional with over 20 years of experience in the field of Health, Safety, Environmental and Natural Resource Management. During this time, he has worked on projects entailing environmental monitoring, management plans and audits, air quality studies, and Greenhouse Gas calculations and inventories. 
As part of this journey, he headed the Environmental Unit at CARIRI where he was involved in major projects in the HSE field. In 2012, Sygma Environmental was established where work has been conducted for private and state entities in Trinidad and Tobago as well as throughout the country and region in areas such as Barbados, Guyana, and St. Kitts. 
He has presented at several conferences such as the AMCHAM HSE Conference, the T&T Chamber of Commerce Facilities Management Conference, and to the Caribbean Environmental Health Institute (CEHI). 
He has had articles on Climate Change and the environment published in magazines such as Contact, Linkage and Business Trinidad & Tobago. 






Adanna Als

Adanna Als is from Trinidad and Tobago and has worked for more than 10 years in the healthcare industry. She currently serves as Healthcare Systems Partner at Roche Pharma Trinidad and Tobago. In this position, she leads the company's aspiration to actively collaborate with health systems, with a patient-centered and personalized approach, to ensure that innovation reaches patients in the shortest possible time. 
Adanna is a bilingual trade and marketing professional with proven expertise in the Caribbean’s  regional and domestic markets in the public and private  sectors of healthcare. Her extensive experience has  allowed her to assume responsibilities and develop the  skills necessary to work in markets that face different situations and needs in terms of market analysis, strategy development, pricing, tender processes/
inclusion,  research and planning, marketing, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution. 
She holds an LL.M in International Trade Law and Disputes from the University of Turin in conjunction with the several arms of the United Nations, a LL.B from the University of London and a B.A. in Communications from the University of West indies. 

 

Dr Dianne Douglas

Founder and Director - Douglas & Associates Ltd.

Dr. Dianne Douglas is a Doctor of Psychology specializing in Clinical and Community Psychology. She is the founder and Director of Douglas & Associates Ltd., established in 2002.
Dr. Douglas was trained in the United States of America (USA) at Wheaton College and Yale University. She was then appointed Assistant Clinical Professor by Yale University’s School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry, for six (6) years. On her return to Trinidad and Tobago, she lectured at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of the West Indies (UWI).
Dr. Douglas is widely sought out as an international consultant. She has provided expertise to the United Nations, The Commonwealth, The Organization of American States (OAS), CARICOM, the State of  Connecticut, INTERPOL and The Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).
In Trinidad and Tobago and in the wider Caribbean region, Dr Douglas’ wealth of knowledge and experience, have resourced justice, security and social services and provides expertise to the corporate sector through workplace interventions,  the Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), workshops, seminars and presentations on a wide range of topics.
 

Jerson Wattie

Health and Safety, Environment Lead

Jerson Wattie has over 20 years of energy industry experience in HSE, Engineering Projects and Operations. A senior HSE professional with the National Gas Company of Trinidad & Tobago, he is driven to transform process safety assurance to succeed in the 4th Industrial Revolution - the intelligent age. 

His major projects include orchestrating continuous improvement in risk-based process safety, applying risk visualization and data analytics. Jerson enjoys reading widely and exploring new solutions like machine learning. He has presented original work in HSE and risk management both locally and abroad.
 
 

Abiola Mc Cree

Health, Safety and Envrionment Advisor - The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC)

Abiola Mc Cree is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with 19 years of experience in the field of Occupational Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE) who has specialized in Environmental Management.
In her current capacity of HSE Advisor at the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC), she facilitates Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Monitoring; and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory and Environmental Reporting towards the advancement of NGC’s Green Agenda. 
Abiola is an active member of The American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago Environment, Social, and Governance Committee (AMCHAM T&T ESG) and has served on several other HSE committees in the oil and gas industry over her over her 19-year career.
 
 

Amba Maharaj

General Manager -
Amsha Engineering Limited

Amba Maharaj is the General Manager of Amsha Engineering Limited since 2020, having previously held the role of Business Development Manager. She works directly with the management team in the areas of strategic development and HSE planning and execution, while leading management of programme, corporate social responsibility, and special projects. She has a wealth of experience in programme and project management within Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean region following stints in the public sector and international civil service. 
Amba holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Geography and Politics from the University of Exeter, and a Master of Philosophy in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, in addition to technical certifications from Project Management Institute, City and Guilds of London and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. Her 
areas of technical expertise include quality management, environment and sustainability management, project planning, scheduling, and generalized project management.
 

Ayan Sarkar

Senior Director Business Development - Honeywell Connected Industrial Solutions

Ayan Sarkar has 25+ years of experience in industrial and technology companies including Honeywell, ABB, Dell, and Amazon. At Honeywell, Ayan is currently focused on helping industrial customers measure, monitor and report on their GHG emissions, and reduce their carbon footprint by leveraging decarbonization technologies in order to meet their Net Zero goals. Ayan has an undergrad in Engineering from India, and an MBA from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is based out of Atlanta, US.

 
 

Mark Allen MPH PhD

Head, Occupational Health Unit -
Ministry of Health

Mark has been a Public Health practitioner for the past thirty-three (33) years in local and regional employment. For the past six (6) years, he directed operations of the Occupational Health Unit at the Ministry of Health in Trinidad and Tobago and championed a national Workers’ Health agenda, led on capacity building for occupational disease surveillance, and inter alia is the national focal point on the PAHO/WHO’s Collaborating Centre on Workers’ Health. Since 2009, Mark has been an Adjunct Lecturer and student research supervisor at the University of the West Indies, Faculty of Medical Sciences (Master’s Degree Public Health programme). 

Mark is a frequent lecturer, speaker, Workshop Facilitator and participant at various fora including in Trinidad and Tobago, British Virgin Islands, Barbados, St Kitts, Cuba, Antigua and Guyana.

Zaheer Ramdath

Engineering & Maintenance Superintendent - Proman

Zaheer Ramdath has a successful track record as an engineering professional with over twenty-one (21) years’ experience in the downstream petrochemical sector. He joined Proman in November 2008 where he has been involved in the coordinating, planning and execution of turnarounds and outages with a focus on safety, quality, schedule, and cost. He has coordinated  maintenance teams and multidisciplinary teams in the administration of engineering and maintenance strategies, policies, and programs. Mr. Ramdath has managed major capital projects from conceptualization, engineering, procurement, construction,  commissioning, and startup. He is also experienced in the field of condition monitoring and inspection.  

In his current position as an Engineering & Maintenance Superintendent at Proman, Mr. Ramdath is actively involved in coordinating projects, maintenance, and process safety initiatives for process plants operated by Proman.  


 

Nikolai Balleramsingh

Senior Production Supervisor - Proman

Nicolai currently supports efficient management of the company’s operations at the AUM Ammonia Plant.
He is a graduate of The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) with a Certificate in Process Operations. Shortly after graduating in 2005 his career as a Process Operator began at the Caribbean Nitrogen Company’s (CNC) Ammonia Plant. Thereafter, in 2009, as part of the Operations Team, he contributed to the successful commissioning of the AUM Ammonia Plant working both in the Field and on the DCS.

Nicolai has over 17 years of experience in Process Operations, managing safe and continuous facilities operations, Training and development of  Operators involved in the planning of turnarounds (TAR), troubleshooting operations issues, facilities reliability, improvement and efficiency.

He also serves as an Emergency Response Crew Captain, certified in Advanced Industrial Fire Fighting, Emergency First Responder, Hazwoper, First Aid, and CPR.

 

Chantal Lalla-Maharaj

Senior Industrial Hygienist - bpTT

Chantal Lalla-Maharaj graduated from the University of the West Indies in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Major in Environmental and Natural Resource Management and Minor in Biotechnology, with First Class Honors. Post completion of her degree, Chantal pursued her career and studies primarily in the field of Industrial Hygiene. In 2010, she attained Licentiate membership of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (LFOH) and holds the Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene (CertOH, with Credit) from the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS). She also is a Board-Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from the American Board of Industrial Hygienist (ABIH). She has worked in the oil and gas sector for the last 20 years, with the last 18 years spent at BP in the field of Industrial Hygiene with a wide experience base in both upstream and downstream operations within BP global operations. She currently holds the position of Senior Industrial Hygienist at BP Trinidad and Tobago LLC where she is primarily responsible for leading the identification, assessment and overall management of Industrial Hygiene risks for the Trinidad business.

 

Amanda McMillan

VP Group Wellness and Benefits - Massy Ltd.

Amanda McMillan has dedicated her life to the pursuit of holistic wellness and helping empower others to do the same for themselves and their families. Throughout her tenure at Massy Ltd., which began in 2006, she brought her passion for employee wellbeing and personal selfcare to the role, as seen in her formation of a Group Wellness Committee to support the physical and mental wellness of our active employees. Dr. Victor Coombs

Dr Coombs is a Consultant in Occupational and Environmental Health where he has interests in Toxicology, Accident Prevention, Emergency Medical Response, Stress Management, HIV in the Workplace, Substance Abuse, Disability Assessment, Indoor Air Pollution and Health Services Management, Infectious Diseases in the work place.

He has held positions such as President National Safety Council, Director Employers Consultative Association, Director Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Director North West Regional Health Authority, Director Pesticides and Toxic Chemical Control Board, Council of the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago, Medical Refree for Workmens Compensation Act, Aviation Medical Examiner and Assessor, Diving Medical Examiner and Part time Lecturer to graduate students in Public Health/ Occupational Health and Emergency Medicine at UWI/FOMS.  He has done Advisory and Consultancy services for local, regional and International Organizations.  He is the former Chairman of (OSHA); Occupational Safety and Health Authority of Trinidad & Tobago.  He is the current Chief Medical Advisor to National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago a position he has held for ten years.  He is Registered with the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago as a Specialist in Occupational Medicine: (MBTT #SC00066) and an Independent Medical Consultant in Private Practice.

 

Catherine Ramnarine

She has significant knowledge and practical experience in this area, and has represented and advised clients on a wide range of issues including pre-employment screening, drafting employment contracts, employee benefits and entitlements, managing performance, promotions, disciplinary investigations and hearings, redundancy and retrenchment, transfers of business, discrimination and workplace injury claims.

 

Alana Beaubrun

Senior Human Resource Executive

Alana serves as an HR Director for Global Manufacturing for the Vancouver-based Methanex Corporation with global HR oversight for six countries – Trinidad, USA, Canada, Chile, Egypt & New Zealand, on a part-time & flexible basis. 

In 2012, Alana founded Harmony HR Consultancy Ltd to provide HR support services to small and medium businesses in Trinidad. She is now a Member of the Board of Directors of Angostura Holdings Ltd and serves as the Chairman of the HR Committee. She is also a member of the Adjunct Faculty of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, currently lecturing in the Masters of Human Resource programme.

Alana was most recently awarded the Maxine Barnett Award for HR Excellence from the Human Resource Management Association of Trinidad and Tobago (HRMATT) in Nov 2022 at their Inaugural Legacy Awards.




Franz Brisbane

Chief Inspector, OSHA

Mr. Franz Brisbane is the Chief Inspector of the Occupational Safety and Health Agency. He has worked in the area of Safety and Health for over 25 years, fifteen of which were spent as a regulator for Safety and Health.

At the OSH Agency, Mr. Brisbane gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in Safety and Health regulation which has led to him being one of the  Agency’s core professionals. His accomplishment include managing the Major Hazards Unit and the development and implementation of several key systems within the Agency.

In addition to his time at the Agency, Mr. Brisbane has worked as a Safety and Health professional mainly in the oil and gas sector. His experience has afforded him the opportunity to gain an intricate understanding of the industry. He has, in the course of his duties, developed several HSE systems ranging from risk management to process safety, and engaged in HSE strategy planning, safety culture and effective safety leadership training and coaching.
 

Tzvetomira Radoslavova

OSH Specialist - ILO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean - Lima, Peru

Tzvetomira Radoslavova first joined the International Labour Organization (ILO) headquarters in Geneva in 2012 where she worked in the field of occupational safety and health (OSH) by conducting research, providing legal advice and technical assistance, developing publications and tools, and organizing trainings and events. 

Tzvetomira currently holds the position of OSH Specialist at the ILO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean in Lima, Peru where she provides technical support to ILO constituents in the development and improvement of their national OSH systems, policies and programmes. 

Among her most recent work, Tzvetomira participated as a member of the Secretariat of the Committee of the International Labour Conference that recognized OSH as a fundamental right and principle at work. She was also a member of the Secretariat of the Meeting of Experts that developed the Technical Guidelines on Biological Risks in the Work Environment. Tzvetomira has a Law degree and Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention.

Sherwin Forte

Mr. Sherwin Forte is currently employed in a management capacity with a leading financial institution and is responsible for asset protection and fraud investigations. He has a wealth of experience with over 20 years in the industry. 

He also facilitates training in the areas of fraud examination, forensic accounting, counterfeit detection, criminal interrogation, crime prevention, robbery response, personal safety and criminal justice. 
Mr. Forte is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Certified Protection Professional (CPP).

Mr. Forte holds academic qualifications in Security Administration and Risk Management and Forensic Accounting. 


 

Carmen Cuartin

Director, Maintenance, Turnaround (TAR) & Campaigns - Atlantic

Carmen Cuartin is currently the Director, Maintenance, Turnaround (TAR) & Campaigns at Atlantic.  In this position, Carmen is responsible for overseeing Atlantic's Maintenance masterplan activity to ensure alignment with the organisation’s five (5) year strategic asset plan. 
She also plays a pivotal role in developing, planning, and executing the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of all reliability and maintenance activities within the facility. Her primary focus is on ensuring flawless Turnarounds (TARs), Campaigns, and Maintenance execution, while also emphasizing robust Fabric Maintenance & Campaigns to drive the implementation of the Evergreen Strategy. This strategy entails transitioning from the current state to a sustainable Evergreen state and subsequently maintaining and operating in a Run and Maintain mode.

Carmen is a seasoned senior leader with a proven track record in the oil and gas industry. She has over 30 years of experience and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Atlantic. She holds master's degrees in both Business Administration and Refining, Petrochemical, and Gases and a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with Honors.

Shazam Edoo

Mr. Shazam Edoo has two decades of professional experience encompassing a diverse range of disciplines, including Quality Assurance, Environmental Management, Health & Safety, Security, Crisis Communication & Management, Emergency Response Planning, Business Continuity, and Enterprise Risk Management. 

His career spans various industries, including Power Generation, Petrochemicals, Construction, Manufacturing, Food, Estate Development, and Port & Marine Terminal Operations. 

In his dedication to his profession, Mr. Edoo generously volunteers his time as a mentor at the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Furthermore, he serves as the Chair of the IOSH Caribbean Branch and plays a pivotal role in the National Technical Committee for Occupational Safety and Health at the Trinidad & Tobago Bureau of Standards. 

On an international level, he extends his support as a subject matter expert on the SHIFT Journal, a platform dedicated to 'Global EHS Research to Practice.' His involvement with the Best Practice Committee involves peer reviewing submissions and crafting user-friendly guides for industry professionals.
