SPEAKERS BIO
Gerard Rajkumar
Manager and Leader Consultant - Sygma Environmental
As part of this journey, he headed the Environmental Unit at CARIRI where he was involved in major projects in the HSE field. In 2012, Sygma Environmental was established where work has been conducted for private and state entities in Trinidad and Tobago as well as throughout the country and region in areas such as Barbados, Guyana, and St. Kitts.
He has presented at several conferences such as the AMCHAM HSE Conference, the T&T Chamber of Commerce Facilities Management Conference, and to the Caribbean Environmental Health Institute (CEHI).
He has had articles on Climate Change and the environment published in magazines such as Contact, Linkage and Business Trinidad & Tobago.
He Possesses a BSc in Analytical Chemistry and an MSc in Natural Resources Management from the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine and Cave Hill respectively. He has been trained in conducting Greenhouse Gas Inventories by the Canadian Standards Authority (CSA).
Outside of work, his passion for HSE has led to Sygma Environmental’s active participation and sponsorship in activities such as the Green Screen Film Festival which presented environmentally-themed films and shorts (some by local film makers) to primary school students at the Digicel IMAX, the New Fire Environment and Music Festival – an environmental weekend long music festival, and the Trinidad & Tobago Meteorological Office’s World Meteorological Day Walkathon and Primary School Quiz.
