VISA SERVICES
at the U.S. Embassy Port of Spain

LINKAGE Q3 (2026) - NAVIGATING UNCERTAINTY: SUSTAINABILITY, RESILIENCE AND THE FUTURE OF BUSINESS
TThe Embassy of the United States in Port of Spain provides consular services to United States citizens residing or visiting Trinidad and Tobago, and immigrant and non-immigrant visas to residents of Trinidad and Tobago.
HOW TO GET A VISA

If you require a visa to travel to the United States, your first stop for information should be the Embassy of Port of Spain website https://tt.usembassy.gov.  Business and tourist travelers are generally issued the combined B1/B2 visa. This visa allows short trips for leisure, transit and to attend meetings, professional conferences seminars and conventions.
Travelers are encouraged to apply early and keep their visas current to avoid delay, particularly if they have relatives in the U.S. or visit frequently for business.
FEES

Non-immigrant visa application fees can be paid on the U.S Department of State Visa Appointment website https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-tt/niv/information/fee and at Scotiabank branches.

DON'T USE THIRD PARTY WEBSITES

Avoid vague internet searches and the plethora of vendor websites that claim to provide visa assistance or consultations. While these sites collect personal data and accept your payment online, they cannot provide visa services. Always use the official Embassy website https://tt.usembassy.gov/.

INTERVIEW WAIVER

The Interview waiver option is available for applicants whose tourist visas are either still valid or expired less than one year ago, and who were issued when they were 18-years or older.  All applications begin with online submission of the DS-160 application form and creation of an online profile to register for visa services. An Interview Waiver applicant’s online profile will be updated to send document status, signaling to the applicant to print the courier-in authorization and take the required documents to TTPOST. Interview Waiver applications are normally processed in 7-10 working days from receipt at the Embassy.
Visa applicants who do not qualify for the interview waiver will be prompted to schedule an interview and appear in person. If the travel is urgent (medical treatment, bereavement or urgent business) an expedited appointment can be requested through the online profile. The Information and Appointment website provides extensive information on the categories of nonimmigrant visas, visa application fees, document courier services and general information on the documents required for each visa type: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/
INQUIRIES AND ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
Case specific inquiries and requests for additional support during the interview for the elderly, neuro-diverse applicants, and those requiring wheel-chair access can be made using the Consular Navigator at least three days prior to the interview. Specific responses will be provided during regular business hours. The navigator is located on the Visas page of the Embassy website: https://tt.usembassy.gov/
