AMCHAM T&T Announces Finalists for the 16th Annual National Excellence in HSE Awards​

AMCHAM T&T has announced the finalists for the 16th Annual National Excellence in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Awards, recognising organisations that continue to demonstrate leadership, innovation and measurable commitment to HSE excellence across Trinidad and Tobago.
Since its inception, the National Excellence in HSE Awards have highlighted the critical role businesses play in protecting people, preserving the environment and strengthening a culture of safety. Officially endorsed by the Ministry of Labour since 2011, the Awards have become an important platform for recognising strong HSE performance, sharing best practices and encouraging organisations to continuously raise their standards.
The 2026 Awards attracted submissions from 24 companies across four categories: Excellence in HSE, HSE Evolution Award, Towards Operational Resilience, and Outstanding OSH and Environment Project. Following the judging process, 17 organisations advanced to the next stage, with 12 companies emerging as finalists in their respective categories.
Entries were assessed by a distinguished panel of HSE professionals representing a cross-section of industries. The judging process focused on measurable improvements in safety standards, effective health programmes, continuous improvement, innovation, environmental responsibility and the integration of HSE into organisational culture and business performance.
Manufacturing Participation on the Rise
One of the notable developments in this year’s Awards was the significant increase in submissions from the manufacturing sector.
The growth in participation points to a stronger focus on HSE within an industry where workplace safety, environmental management, regulatory compliance and operational continuity are closely interconnected. It also reflects the importance of embedding HSE into everyday business operations rather than viewing it solely through the lens of regulatory compliance.
For manufacturers in particular, effective HSE systems can play an important role in protecting employees, reducing operational risks and supporting the long-term sustainability of the business.
Excellence in HSE Finalists
Six organisations have been named finalists in the prestigious Excellence in HSE Award category. The category recognises organisations that have embedded HSE as a core business value while demonstrating excellence in both HSE and business performance.
The finalists are:

🔹 Halliburton — Energy | Large Company
The remaining finalists will compete across the HSE Evolution Award, which recognises meaningful and transformative improvements in HSE performance; Towards Operational Resilience, which focuses on preparedness, business continuity and the ability to adapt to disruption; and Outstanding OSH and Environment Project, which recognises projects delivering measurable and sustainable improvements in HSE and stakeholder wellbeing.
Beyond Recognition
The National Excellence in HSE Awards form part of AMCHAM T&T’s broader commitment to strengthening HSE capacity across the business community. Through initiatives such as its HSE Mentorship Programme, AMCHAM T&T connects participating organisations with experienced HSE professionals and past award winners, creating opportunities for knowledge transfer, mentorship and continuous improvement.
The 16th Annual National Excellence in HSE Awards will bring together industry leaders, policymakers and stakeholders at a ceremony on October 26, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad, celebrating organisations that continue to raise the bar in HSE performance.
The Awards recognise companies of varying sizes and across multiple sectors, reflecting the wide-ranging importance of building safer, healthier and more sustainable workplaces.

This award recognizes outstanding projects that deliver measurable, sustainable improvements in occupational health, safety, environmental performance, and stakeholder wellbeing, demonstrating innovation, impact, and excellence beyond regulatory and operational requirements.



CATEGORY: TOWARDS OPERATIONAL RESILIENCE


This award recognizes organizations that strengthen operational resilience through business continuity, preparedness, adaptability, and internationally aligned practices, enabling them to effectively manage disruption, protect critical operations, and thrive in an evolving risk environment.

This award recognizes organizations and individuals demonstrating meaningful progress in their HSE journey through innovation, continuous improvement, and transformative initiatives that strengthen safety, health, environmental performance, and organizational culture.
