National Bushfire Workshop 2026 - Trinidad and Tobago | February 24, 2026


AMCHAM T&T participated in the national workshop “Bushfires Destroy Lives, Livelihoods and Productivity in Trinidad and Tobago,” bringing together public and private sector stakeholders to address one of the country’s most pressing environmental challenges.
Representing AMCHAM T&T, Dr. Marissa Nimrod and Skyle Baptiste delivered presentations on the public health and economic impacts of bushfires. Their contributions highlighted the risks to vulnerable communities, the disruption to business operations, and the urgent need for coordinated, multi-sectoral action.
This engagement underscores AMCHAM T&T’s commitment to advancing sustainability, business continuity, and national resilience.

HSE Learning Table: Preparing for ISO 45001 Updates - February 26, 2026
As part of its ongoing commitment to workplace safety, AMCHAM T&T’s HSE Committee hosted another Learning Table session focused on upcoming changes to the ISO 45001 Standard.
Led by Gail Figaro, Principal Consultant at Phi-Onyx Services Ltd., the session provided valuable insights into evolving occupational health and safety requirements and what they mean for organisations preparing for implementation and certification.
These sessions continue to build awareness and to foster collaboration among members as they work toward higher standards of HSE performance.

Strengthening Private Sector Engagement in Disaster Risk Reduction - Barbados | March 24-25, 2026

Melissa Pierre, Manager – Projects & Initiatives at AMCHAM T&T, represented ARISE Trinidad and Tobago at the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction workshop on Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems.
The workshop brought together regional stakeholders to strengthen private sector engagement in disaster preparedness and response. Melissa highlighted AMCHAM T&T’s ongoing initiatives, including business continuity planning training and bushfire preparedness efforts in collaboration with national agencies.
As the lead for ARISE Trinidad and Tobago, AMCHAM T&T continues to champion practical, collaborative solutions that enhance resilience across the business community and the wider Caribbean.
