Veera Bhajan
Attorney At Law and Lay Assessor | Equal Opportunity Tribunal
Veera Bhajan is an Attorney at Law, Trauma-Informed Transformative Coach and Yoga Teacher who was born without arms. At a tender age Ms Bhajan acquired the skill of using her feet for writing, typing and undertaking daily activities. In 1999, Ms Bhajan sat the then Common Entrance Examination passing for her first choice St. Augustine Girls High School and securing a spot in the top 100 students in Trinidad and Tobago. In 2004 and 2006 Ms. Bhajan wrote the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) gaining full passes. In 2009, Ms. Bhajan graduated from the University of the West Indies with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Hons) and further pursued her studies at the Hugh Wooding Law School where she obtained the Legal Education Certificate. In 2011, Ms Bhajan was admitted to the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago as a practising Attorney at Law. In 2014, Ms. Bhajan graduated from the University of the West Indies with a Master of Laws Degree (Hons) in Corporate and Commercial Law.
Ms. Bhajan spent the first six years of her legal career as a Legal Counsel at the Police Complaints Authority of Trinidad and Tobago. She then transitioned into private practice where she specialised in civil, corporate and conveyancing matters. In 2021 Ms Bhajan was the recipient of a Presidential appointment by the former President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Ms. Paula-Mae Weekes for the position of Lay-Assessor of the Equal Opportunity Tribunal of Trinidad and Tobago. In 2024, she was re-appointed to the said position by Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, ORTT President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. During the period 2021-2024 Ms Bhajan was successful in the High Court and Court of Appeal of Trinidad and Tobago after she was denied of her constitutional right to work and receive her renumeration following her appointment as Lay-Assessor. Ms. Bhajan presently sits as Lay-Assessor of the Equal Opportunity Tribunal following the Court’s ruling.
Ms. Bhajan is a Member of The Distinguished Society of Trinidad and Tobago having been the recipient of a National Award, The Hummingbird Medal for Youth Inspiration and Development in 2014.
In addition to her legal career, Ms. Bhajan is a yoga and meditation instructor. She is the founder of the Yogi Within TT where she guides her students on a journey of self-discovery and self-transformation through the practice of yoga and spirituality. In 2025 Ms Bhajan became certified as a trauma-informed transformative coach and her goal is to work with clients as they move through life’s challenges and pain with the intention of living more empowering, authentic and Self-led lives.

In 2017 Nicole was the designated rapporteur for the International Labour Organization – ILO Global Women in Business – Gaining Momentum global report with responsibility for the Caribbean region’s Women on Boards documentation.
In 2018, Nicole was the AFETT Women of Influence, Social Entrepreneur of the Year Awardee.
Nicole is a US State Department IVLP Alumni: IVLP 2011 – Women and Entrepreneurship, and IVLP 2021 – ICT Migrating Small Businesses Online. She is also the 2017 Government of India ITEC Leadership Fellowship Awardee – Public and Private Partnerships.
Nicole is a Vital Voices VV100 Women and is the Trinidad and Tobago Flag Bearer of the Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk.

Nirad Tewarie
CEO | AMCHAM T&T
Nirad Tewarie is the CEO of AMCHAM T&T. He has more than twenty five years’ experience in media, communications, management, education and international relations. Nirad is also the Chairman of C15 studios, a Member of the Board of Directors of Aspire Fund Management, and the Loan For Enterprise and Network Development.
Passionate about youth development and using his expertise for good, Nirad is the Chairman of the 50-year old, San Juan Jabloteh Sports Club and Manager of the Hillview College Football Teams, where he oversaw the promotion of the Senior Team to the Championship Division of the Secondary Schools’ Football League after just one season.
Nirad is a past Chair of the Business Integrity Country Agenda sub-committee of the T&T Transparency Institute. He was formerly the CEO of the T&T Coalition of Services Industries (TTCSI), Chairman of the Caribbean Network of Services Coalitions, a member of the Communications and Public Affairs Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, UK and a columnist for the Trinidad Guardian.
A keen supporter of the arts, Nirad is an Associate Producer of Bazodee the Movie and the former Chairman of the Cabinet Appointed Fashion Industry Development Committee. He has also served on the board of US-based FinTech startup Fintanium, of the Telecommunications Authority of T&T, the Indian Caribbean Museum and Vision on Mission Prisoner Rehabilitation Programme among others.
Nirad holds a BSc. in Mass Communications from Florida International University and an MSc in International Relations from the Institute of International Relations, UWI. He regularly speaks at regional conferences on matters related to technology & economic development. Most of all, Nirad is trying to be a good husband and father to his three kids and is hoping to leave the world a little better than he found it.

Greer Quan

Greer Quan joined Guardian Group as Chief Operating Officer on the 1st January, 2025, bringing extensive leadership experience and a results-driven approach. She provides strategic oversight of key shared service functions, including Corporate Shared Services, Information Technology and Security, Group Marketing and Communication, Human Capital, Health and Safety, Procurement, Project and Programme Management. With a sharp focus on service excellence, process optimisation and innovation, Greer plays a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency and driving performance across the Group.
With over 17 years of C-suite experience—more than a decade in Banking and Financial Services—Greer is a dynamic leader who is known for her expertise in corporate strategy, financial oversight, and operational transformation. She has held influential leadership positions, including Chief Executive Officer – Caribbean at Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) and Chief Operations Officer at the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT). Beyond her executive responsibilities, Greer has contributed significantly to industry development through board-level roles with the Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Institute (TTII) and the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago (AMCHAM TT). Her expertise in corporate governance, risk management and process optimisation has positioned her as a thought leader in shaping industry standards, driving innovation and navigating complex organisational challenges.

Tricia De La Rosa-Camacho
VP, AML/ATF & Compliance | Scotiabank
Tricia De La Rosa–Camacho is the Vice President Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) & Compliance for Scotiabank English Caribbean. She was appointed to this role in September 2021, after holding various Audit and Finance positions at Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago - Chief Auditor, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant General Manager, Management Reporting.
She possesses 20+ years’ experience in Internal & External Audit, Financial Analysis & Reporting, Corporate Governance & Supply Chain Management. Prior to Scotiabank, she held several progressively senior roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers, RBTT Merchant Bank, BP, Digicel and McCann Erickson.
Tricia is a Chartered Accountant (C.A), a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) and holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with distinction. She is also a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago (ICATT).

Simone Martin-Šulgan
Vice President & General Manager, Trinidad and Tobago | FLOW Trinidad
Simone has almost 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and has worked across the Caribbean, holding senior management positions in Trinidad and Tobago, the Cayman Islands, Barbados, the Dutch Caribbean, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and Dominica.
After pursuing an MBA and MSc in International Business Development and Consulting in Germany and France, respectively, she returned to the Caribbean in 2014 and began her tenure with Cable and Wireless Communications as the Vice President of Mobile Operations for the Bahamas Telecommunications Company.
Her most recent role was as Senior Commercial Director of the South Caribbean, a wide portfolio that included the islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, the Dutch Caribbean, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Dominica.
Simone is the first female Vice President of C&W Communications (C&W)/Flow Trinidad & Tobago; appointed in May 2021.

Frances Bain-Cumberbatch
Chief Legal and External Affairs Officer | Ansa McAl Limited
Frances Bain-Cumberbatch is an esteemed Attorney-at-law and currently holds the position of Chief Legal and External Affairs Officer at ANSA McAL Limited, the premier conglomerate in the Caribbean region. Serving as the Corporate Secretary to the Board of ANSA McAL Limited and as a director on the Board of ANSA Bank Limited, Frances brings forth a wealth of 17 years of corporate expertise to her pivotal role, leading the Legal and External Affairs functions within the ANSA McAL Group. She is an integral member of the Group's Executive Leadership Team.
In her capacity as Chief Legal Officer, Frances exercises comprehensive oversight over legal services, commercial and corporate transactions, regulatory and compliance matters, as well as litigation within the ANSA McAL Group. As Corporate Secretary, she is tasked with fostering board governance and upholding corporate governance standards across the Group.

Frances commenced her legal career as an Associate at the firm of J.D. Sellier & Co. She holds a BA Double Major in French and Spanish from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, an LLB from the University of London, and a Legal Education Certificate from the Sir Hugh Wooding Law School, Trinidad.
Under Frances's leadership, ANSA McAL Limited has garnered esteemed accolades, including awards for excellence in Corporate Governance from Ethical Boardroom in 2021 and for enterprise risk management from the Caribbean Risk Management Academy in 2022. Kimi Rochard

Kimi is an attorney-at-law with 23 year’s post-qualification experience who has practised in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as England and Wales in both the public and private sectors.
Kimi joined the Scotiabank team in 2014. Her expertise in corporate governance and proven track record in corporate and commercial legal matters have contributed significantly to the Bank’s robust legal and corporate governance framework.
Kimi attended the University of the West Indies where she attained a Bachelor of Laws in 1999, the Hugh Wooding Law School, where she attained her Legal Education Certificate in 2001, and the University of Northumbria, Newcastle, where she attained a Master’s Degree in Commercial Law in 2006.

Dr. Brittany Deane
Medical Professional / Media Personality / Fitness Athlete

As the host of The Lunchtime Doctor on Freedom 106.5 FM, Dr. Deane leverages her medical expertise to provide insightful, evidence-based discussions on critical health topics. Her ability to communicate complex medical concepts in an engaging and accessible manner has established her as a trusted voice in health education.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Deane is an internationally ranked bikini fitness athlete and the top-ranked bikini fitness competitor in Trinidad and Tobago. Her achievements in bodybuilding exemplify discipline, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. She actively promotes the importance of physical and mental well-being, inspiring others to pursue healthier lifestyles.
In 2024, Dr. Deane proudly represented Trinidad and Tobago on the international stage as Miss Supranational Trinidad and Tobago, using her platform to advocate for health awareness and
female empowerment.

Aleeya Ali
Managing Director, Operations | Proman Trinidad
As Managing Director of Operations in Trinidad, Aleeya manages three divisions across the Proman family of companies which produce methanol, anhydrous ammonia, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) and melamine. The divisions provide a range of plant and project management services to 14 chemical plants owned and operated by Proman in Trinidad and Tobago. Aleeya is instrumental in her team’s delivery of best-in-class support across all facilities, to ensure that operations excellence is maintained throughout the Point Lisas business.
Aleeya has been with the Proman family of companies for 20 years, having worked on a wide range of initiatives across the petrochemical processes and operations segments of the business. She has had considerable experience in key company projects that include the design, construction and commissioning phases of the Ammonia Urea Melamine (AUM) Complex and the mature operating phases of the Ammonia and Methanol Plants. She is also a member of the Proman Foundation Board, which oversees the company’s CSR investments across Trinidad and Tobago.
A holder of a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of the West Indies (UWI), and a Master’s of Science degree in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough University, U.K., Aleeya is an advocate for the efficient use of our energy resources and the application of renewable energy options in delivering sustainable benefits to Trinidad and Tobago as well as the global environment.

Shalini Rambachan Maharaj
Corporate Commercial Attorney
Shalini is a seasoned corporate commercial attorney with over 12 years of experience, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, strategic legal risk management, and compliance. She has successfully guided businesses across private and public sectors through complex legal and strategic challenges, including in the areas of Technology, Finance, Insurance, Property, and Retail & Distribution.
Shalini’s expertise extends to navigating intricate legal frameworks in cross-border environments, where operational excellence and regulatory alignment are paramount. She has a proven track record in mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and integrations, ensuring seamless execution while aligning legal, business, and governance strategies.

Maya Kirti Nanan
Founder & Director | Autism Siblings and Friends Network (ASFN)
Maya Nanan, a 21-year-old from Trinidad and Tobago. Since her brother’s autism diagnosis, Maya has sought to make Trinidad and Tobago a place that is inclusive of those with autism and other special educational needs. Maya established the powerful ‘Siblings and Friends Network’, which trains youth volunteers who advocate for inclusivity. She also does community educational outreach programmes as well as organises events such as Autism Fun Days, Christmas parties and summer camps etc.
Under her leadership, this group not only advocates for opportunities for people with special educational needs but they also fundraise to create and provide these opportunities themselves. Maya established an autism centre, named after her brother Rahul, 'Rahul's Clubhouse' - an autism-friendly space was created for those on the autism spectrum to have access to equal opportunities and to enhance their holistic development and to help them reach their full potential. She is the first Diana Award recipient from Trinidad and Tobago. Currently, she holds the title of Commonwealth Young Person of the Year 2023.

Roslyn Williams-George
Director | Cashew Gardens Community Council
Roslyn Williams-George has been involved in NGO activities for the last twenty-five years and currently holds the position of Director of the Cashew Gardens Community Council. She believes that rural communities has the human and natural resources that are necessary to protect the environment, develop its human potential and to generate employment opportunities particularly for the underserved in the community.
Over the last twelve years, she has utilized the green spaces within the community to pioneer projects such as the Cashew Gardens Homework and Activity Centre, a place where the community kids have access to free internet and academic assistance, the Recycling and Composting programs, a community recycling project the first of its kind in Trinidad and Tobago, the Community Smart Garden, and most recently the Cashew Gardens Community Green Market. This market will showcase green initiatives as well as provide entrepreneurial opportunities for women and girls who were previously trained in several skills.
Roslyn holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Australia Institute of Business, NGO Management from the University of the West Indies and an international Certificate in Advanced Project Management. Her dream is to assist women and girls in underserved communities through green social initiatives.

Hasine Shaikh SC LLB, LEC, LLM.
Chief Public Defender - Public Defenders’ Department | Legal Aid and Advisory Authority of Trinidad and Tobago
Ms. Hasine Shaikh SC assumed the role of Trinidad and Tobago’s first Chief Public Defender in March 2020. As Department Head, she has been an integral part of the reformation of the role of Defence Counsel in the Criminal Justice System. With the proclamation of the Administration of Justice Indictable Proceedings Act, the Department also now manages all of the legally aided committal proceedings before the High Court.
Prior to being Chief Public Defender, Ms. Shaikh was a member of the private Criminal Bar as Defence Counsel since being called to the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago in 2008. A former national scholarship winner, she graduated from the University of the West Indies and Hugh Wooding Law School. She also went on to complete her Master of Laws in Criminology and Criminal Justice in 2016 from the University of London. She has practiced at the Magisterial, High Court and Appellate Courts of Trinidad and Tobago. She was recently appointed to Senior Counsel in June of 2024.
Ms. Shaikh has always been an active participant in the continued development of the Criminal Justice system and contributes as a serving member on a number of committees geared to this. She is also a strong advocate for the moulding of young minds in the profession and to this end, was a past tutor for the University of the West Indies, Law Faculty for Criminal Law and currently tutors in the Hugh Wooding Law School, for Criminal Practice and Procedure.

Glenn Hamel-Smith

Glenn Hamel-Smith is a Partner at M. Hamel-Smith & Co., and Head of the Firm’s Banking & Finance Practice Group and has been practicing commercial law for over twenty-six years. He is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago. His legal career began in 1998 in the International and Corporate Departments of one of the then largest international law firms headquartered in Miami, Florida, following which he joined Hamel-Smith in 2002.
Glenn obtained his Legal Education Certificate from Hugh Wooding Law School and his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law as a Deans’ Honor Scholar. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in International Business and Management Information Systems from Florida International University where he graduated at the top of his class as a Faculty Scholar.
Glenn’s legal practice focuses on bank finance (including secured and unsecured lending) and regulation, project finance, mergers and acquisitions including merger control regulation, securities advisory matters and capital markets transactions, including IPOs and APOs. He is a trusted counsel to lenders, borrowers, arrangers, underwriters, securities companies, trustees and financial advisers and has led transactions valued at over a billion US dollars. He has been a speaker at several conferences and has published and co-published numerous articles on varied topics including merger control, corporate governance, securities laws, bank finance and regulations, taking security over collateral, and mergers and acquisitions.
Glenn has been ranked for ten years by Chambers Global (described as the definitive mark of excellence across the legal industry with rankings based on in-depth analysis and independent research) and is currently ranked in Band 1 in Trinidad and Tobago. He was recently described by Chambers as adding “value beyond what I would expect from counsel” where it was noted that “he has a level of wisdom he brings along with his legal skills”.
He was also included by Business Today in the Top 10 Game-Changing General Business Lawyers in Trinidad & Tobago 2023.
A former vice-president of the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad & Tobago (AMCHAM), Glenn currently serves as a director and corporate Secretary of AMCHAM and formerly sat on its Transparency Accountability and Governance Committee. He is also a former member of AMCHAM’s Legislative Committee where he served for over eight years, the last three of which he served as Chair. He previously served as a director of Trinidad Cement Limited and currently Chairs the Boards of Readymix (West Indies) Limited and ExeQtrust Limited and serves as a director of Island Finance Trinidad & Tobago Limited. He is married with two children.

Neola Zama

Neola Zama is a Professional Therapist, Trainer, and Speaker with over 20 years of clinical and corporate experience. A survivor of trauma herself, she specializes in empowering women—particularly Caribbean women—to heal from the deep wounds of violence and reclaim their strength. With a Master’s in Clinical Social Work and a background in psychology and human resource management, Neola has worked across diverse sectors, including corporate wellness, academia, and private practice, providing psychotherapy, training, and clinical supervision.
Beyond her clinical work, Neola is a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and mental well-being. Through speaking engagements, she shares her expertise on resilience, healing in a challenging world, and overcoming trauma.
She is deeply committed to fostering strong mental health in women navigating personal and professional challenges, making her a sought-after leader in the field.

Krishen Ramdeen
Managing Director, Corporate Improvement | Proman

Krishen Ramdeen is the Managing Director of Corporate Improvement, and he serves as a member of the Trinidad Senior Leadership Team for Proman Limited. He oversees the delivery of several essential business services across the Proman family of companies locally and is key to global initiatives in alignment with the Proman Group’s strategy.
Krishen has considerable experience in the Energy and Gas-based Petrochemical industries, contributing in multiple professional capacities within Engineering, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE), Corporate Services, and Business Transformation. He has been involved in these sectors for over 30 years, holding key senior executive roles within the business. He is instrumental in guiding the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility investments as a member of the Board of Directors for the Proman Foundation. Krishen also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for AMCHAM Trinidad and Tobago.
Krishen holds a M.Sc. (Honours) in Environmental Management from the New York Institute of Technology, and a B.T. (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering also from the New York Institute of Technology.

Angelique Bart has 20 years of legal, business and industry experience and is a qualified Attorney at Law, admitted to practice law in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana. She is also a Former Partner at Band 1 Law firm in Trinidad and Tobago specialising in tax and commercial law.
Currently, Angelique leads the T&T and Guyana Tax and Legal services practice at PwC which is comprised of over 25 Specialist Tax Consultants and Attorneys who provide deep and expansive advice on tax compliance, consultancy and advisory matters for all sectors.
As a Tax Advisory and Consultancy Services Specialist, she provides extensive tax and corporate commercial legal advice on the implications of doing business in Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago including cross border transaction, inheritance and wealth taxation matters, group restructurings and other complex matters. Clients are multinationals in all sectors including oil and gas -petrochemicals, large local conglomerates, manufacturers, financial services and retail and distribution.
She also provided Specialised Tax Consulting Services on various government-sector projects including TTIFC, Eteck and other sector specific engagements, and provided advisory and compliance support for Value Added Tax and other miscellaneous taxes and some Customs advisory services.
Angelique had also supported a number of clients in obtaining rulings from the Guyana Revenue Authority to obtain clarity and a level of comfort on the tax treatment of specific items and matters. She represents clients at every stage of the tax dispute process including attending before the Courts in respect of tax matters and she also advises on tax issues, legal strategies, evidence, and other key legal issues throughout a tax audit, proposed adjustments, objections and appeals process.
Angelique obtained her LEC in Law from Hugh Wooding Law School and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from University of the West Indies. She also has a Diploma in Public Management from the University of Guyana and is currently a
Member, of the Trade and Investment Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad & Tobago.

As a relationship-oriented person, Mitch interacts with key contacts across the various markets and willingly shares his perspectives and views with clients and colleagues alike.
Mitch holds Directorships on the boards of United Way and the Bankers Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
Mitch and his wife Gina have been happily married for the past nineteen (19) years and are the proud parents of two boys, Joshua and Evan. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from the University of West Indies, St. Augustine Campus and an MBA from York University, Toronto Campus, Schulich School of Business.
