COP29 PRESENTATIONS
AMCHAM T&T's ESG and HSE committees hosted a session with committee members to explore the opportunities and challenges of COP29. The discussion followed the agreement for developed nations to provide at least $300 billion annually to developing countries by 2035, aimed at significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and safeguarding lives and livelihoods from the escalating effects of climate change.
The session was led by Kishan Kumarsingh, Head of the Multilateral Environmental Agreements Unit at the Ministry of Planning and Development, and Ryan Bachoo, Multimedia Journalist at Guardian Media.
The presentations highlighted the key outcomes and decisions from COP29 and outlined opportunities, challenges, and the way forward for the private sector, civil society, and government as they prepare for COP30.
