Nirad Tewarie
Chief Executive OfficerNirad Tewarie has been the Chief Executive Officer of AMCHAM T&T since July 2014. Just three months after joining AMCHAM T&T, he managed the most successful event in AMCHAM T&T’s history, doubling the highest ever revenue earned from the Annual Health Safety, Security & Environment Conference, AMCHAM T&T’s signature event. During his year at AMCHAM T&T, he has significantly strengthened the organisation through a revised organisational structure, improvements at the AMCHAM T&T premises and heightened member engagement.

He brings to the organization a wealth of experience in management, media and communications and international relations. Prior to his current position, Nirad was the Chief Executive Officer of the T&T Coalition of Services Industries (TTCSI) for five years.

Committed to public service, Nirad serves on the UWI-Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business International MBA Advisory Board. He was the Chairman of the Cabinet-appointed Fashion Industry Development Committee from October 2012 – November 2013, having previously served as that Committee’s Deputy Chairman. From 2009 to March 2013 he was the Chairman of the Caribbean Network of Services Coalitions. He has also served on the Boards of the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, the Vision on Mission Prisoner Rehabilitation Programme and the Indian Caribbean Museum of Trinidad and Tobago. He is a regular volunteer for several programmes dedicated toward the development of young people.

Over the years he has developed a reputation as being a forthright and insightful contributor to issues affecting regional and private sector development. He is regularly asked to speak at conferences and to contribute to publications around the region.

Seen as a leading advocate for private-sector led growth, in the recent past, Nirad has presented to the Global Services Coalitions Annual Meeting in Washington D.C., the Africa-Caribbean-Pacific group meeting on future support to the Private Sector in Brussels, Belgium and the Caribbean Export Colloquium on Export-led growth in Barbados.

A former columnist for the Trinidad Guardian, Nirad’s past experience includes assignments at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, UK; at several local tertiary-level educational institutions, including the University of the West Indies, Roytec & the School of Business and Computer Studies (SBCS); and at several local media houses, including the T&T Guardian, CCN TV6 & IETV, where he conceptualized and started the first local cable news programme.

Nirad holds a BSc. In Mass Communications, specializing in Broadcast Journalism from Florida International University and an MSc in International Relations from the Institute of International Relations, UWI. He is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute.

Senior Trade and Projects OfficerMelissa Pierre joined the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago in January 2007 as the Trade and Communications Officer. In August 2014, she assumed the position of Senior Trade and Projects Officer with responsibility for the AMCHAM T&T Health, Safety, Security and Environment Conference; the National HSE Awards and the National Youth Productivity Forum (NYPF).

Ms. Pierre has an International MBA from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations and a BSc in Economics & Management from the University of the West Indies. Ms. Pierre is currently pursuing the eBSI International Trade Specialist Programme.

She is responsible for the HSE and Trade and Investment (T&I) Committee.

pjohnson Phyllis Johnson
Admin and Visa OfficerPhyllis is the longest serving member on the AMCHAM T&T Secretariat. She is the familiar face and voice who has greeted members for the past 21 years. As such, Phyllis possess a wealth of knowledge on the history, growth and development of the organisation and its members.
Neerala Boodoo
Membership Services AssistantNeerala Boodoo joined the Secretariat of AMCHAM T&T in February 2015. Ms. Boodoo graduated from the Institute of International Relations with a MSc. in Global Studies, and a BSc. International Relations from the UWI.

Through her experiences as a volunteer at TIC 2014 and the VIII Americas Competitiveness Forum, she has realised her penchant for event co-ordination and protocol and is currently undertaking the George Washington Event Management Certificate Programme at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business.  With a deep appreciation for travel and culture, Neerala is working toward being multilingual, which would serve to enhance her future career goals in the field of diplomacy.

Aurelia-Bruce-sm150 Aurelia Bruce
Research OfficerBruce has had experience conducting international trade research in the Caribbean and Canada. Her penchant for research-led advocacy, she anticipates, would lead to action and a solid career in regional development.

Bruce graduated from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, with a MSc. in International Trade Policy (with Distinction); a BSc. in Political Science with Law (with Honours), and completed a study tour of all major international trade organizations in Geneva, Switzerland.

She is responsible for the Legislative and Security Committee at AMCHAM T&T

Francisca Hector
Communications OfficerFrancisca Hector joined the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago in August of 2014. With a background in Sales and Marketing, she has worked for Digicel, CNC3 Television as well as two of the top Advertising Agencies in Trinidad and Tobago; Mc Cann Erickson (World Group) and Ross Advertising Ltd. Ms. Hector is currently pursuing her MA in Communication, Media and Public Relations from the University of Leicester.

She is responsible for the Programme & Events Committee and the Communications Committee at AMCHAM T&T

Breanne Mc Ivor

Breanne Mc Ivor joined the Secretariat of AMCHAM T&T in August 2015. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MSc in Literature and Society (with Distinction) and from the University of Cambridge with an MA in English (with Honours).

Kelvin Alleyne
Office Assistant

Kelvin has been a part of the AMCHAM T&T family for over 10 years.  Kelvin’s role centres on assisting Project Officers and Administrative Staff with meetings, events and the completion of major projects within the organisation.

Kelvin is also an avid athlete and mostly notably was a former member of the Trinidad & Tobago’s National Volleyball team.
